Software Engineer II

Overview Are you passionate about containerized applications and cloud-native software development? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! At Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Node Lifecycle team, we manage Kubernetes nodes, so AKS customers don't have to. The ensures that nodes support the latest Kubernetes and Azure features and are up to date from a security and compliance perspective. As a Software Engineer II on the Azure Kubernetes Service Infrastructure team , you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the systems that manage the lifecycle of Kubernetes nodes in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). You will work closely with other engineers to build and improve our automation, deployment, and monitoring systems. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain software components for the AKS node lifecycle management system. Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code. Participate in code reviews and contribute to the team's coding standards and best practices. Collaborate with other engineers and product managers to define and implement new features. Troubleshoot and debug issues in production and development environments. Participate in on-call rotation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience in software development. Strong programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Go, Python, C++, Java). Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP). Experience with distributed systems. Experience with designing and implementing REST APIs. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Kubernetes node management. Experience with Azure services. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM).
