The Federal Judicial Police is a specialized police service that is primarily responsible for combating organized crime in all its forms. She is one of the three general directorates of the federal police and focuses on conducting investigations into cybercrime, terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, and many other areas. She provides support and expertise to the entire integrated police and her national and international partners.
In this department are the operational resources assigned to judicial police operations, the fight against serious and organized crime, special units, and technical and forensic police operations.

Job description
The software engineer will integrate into a team of five people working on developing a Python application in Django to support operational needs. Day-to-day work will involve developing new features and maintaining existing features.
The entire project is being developed using Agile methods and is fully on-premise. We are asking for an availability of 2 days per week at the office, in Brussels, easily accessible by public transportation. The candidate must be able to obtain a security accreditation.

Profile
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented software engineer with a passion for modeling, designing, developing innovative software components and applications. Has experience with the development of data applications in Django, and proven track record in translating customer needs into technical requirements.

Front-end development: Expertise in building and maintaining applications in React.
Back-end development: In-depth knowledge of Python for software dev, demonstrated experience with Python Django, and optionally a plus in .NET.
Data quality and integrity: Strong focus on ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data.
Problem-solving ability: Excellent analytical skills to solve complex technical challenges and deliver data-driven solutions.

Education: 
Minimum a bachelor's degree in Software Development/IT
A demonstrated experience in application development in Python
