Software Engineer Frontend - AI-Powered Store Manager Companion (f/m/d)

The project: Design of AI & Data-driven decision support web applications

With Manager’s Companion, we help managers in over 1,900 stores in 56 countries analyze and manage their business in real-time.

To support the international deployment of the product, we are looking for a Software Engineer with a frontend focus to join a team composed of developers, a Product Manager, a QA, and Support.

What you will do with us

• Design and evolve a desktop web application with React, TypeScript, and Vite.
• Transform business needs into simple, fast, and accessible experiences.
• Participate in the evolution of the frontend architecture, navigation, and interfaces.
• Integrate REST APIs via the BFF and collaborate with Backend and Data teams.
• Work with the data and state management components already present in the product: TanStack Query, Zustand...
• Write and maintain unit and end-to-end tests.
• Contribute to code reviews, pair programming, and architectural decisions.
• Monitor quality and performance in production with Datadog RUM and OpenTelemetry.

The product also occasionally relies on data and LLM services via Google Vertex AI. You will be able to contribute to transforming these results into clear and useful interfaces for users.

GitHub Copilot, as well as shared skills and workflows, are part of our daily development routine.

The stack

Frontend

• Web application with React 19, TypeScript, Vite, and React Router.
• Development environment Node.js 22 and pnpm 10.
• Decathlon Design system VTMN Play, with Ant Design 6 also present.
• BFF calls via services; API client generation with Orval, schemas and clients with Zod and Zodios.
• Data and state management: TanStack Query 4, Zustand...
• Integrations: OIDC authentication, Datadog RUM, and Amplitude.

BFF

Node.js, TypeScript, and Express, with PostgreSQL/Mikro-ORM and Redis. APIs documented with OpenAPI, Zod validation; Vitest/MSW tests and Pino/OpenTelemetry observability.

Quality and production

• Vitest 4, Testing Library, Playwright.
• ESLint 9, Prettier 3, and TypeScript.
• GitHub Actions; production and deployment with GCP, Kubernetes, Flux CD, and Kustomize; observability with OpenTelemetry.

The profile we are looking for

• You have at least 2 years of professional frontend development experience, with a solid practice of React and TypeScript.
• You are interested in frontend architecture, UX, accessibility, and performance.
• You are accustomed to automated testing and teamwork.
• You are comfortable with API integration and exchanges with Backend and Data teams.
• Experience with design systems, state management tools, or business-intensive web applications is appreciated.
• A Node.js, Java, or Kotlin background is a plus, but not essential.
• An interest in data and decision support applications is also appreciated.
