Software Engineer

€341 billion are accounted for in Germany every year in the healthcare sector. Most of it: manual, error-prone, outdated. We're changing that.

Doctario is building the AI infrastructure for medical billing – one of the most complex and largest processes in the German healthcare sector. No research project, no playground: Our product is live, customers are working productively with it, and demand is growing faster than our team.

In less than four weeks, we've completed a seed financing round just below the seven-figure mark. Now we're building the engineering team that scales this infrastructure.

Why now?

You'll be joining at a phase where your decisions shape architecture, product, and culture long-term. Few meetings, little bureaucracy – instead, real ownership, direct impact, and a product in use with customers. We're looking for someone who can get started quickly.

Tasks

You'll build features end-to-end: from the idea to implementation to live deployment at the customer's site. You'll translate complex medical billing requirements into robust, maintainable software. You'll integrate AI/ML functionality with a focus on reliability and real-world usage. And you'll take responsibility for what you build – including monitoring, bug fixing, and continuous improvement.

You'll work closely with product, ML, and business teams and make pragmatic technical decisions that connect fast shipping and long-term sustainability.

Qualification

You've built and operated productive software – with real users, real data, and real responsibility. You have demonstrable experience with AI/ML-based applications, whether in a job, as a side project, or in your own startup. Your backend or full-stack understanding is solid: APIs, data models, system architecture. You work with Python and/or TypeScript. You're fluent in German – necessary because we're close to customers and regulatory requirements.
