Who are we looking for?

BV TECH S.p.A. is looking for an experienced Software Developer — Linux & C++ to be involved in projects of high technological complexity in the field of command and control systems for defense.

The candidate will be involved in the development and maintenance of software applications in a Linux/Unix environment on embedded and distributed platforms.

What will you do?

You will join the development team and be responsible for:

• Development and maintenance of software applications in a Linux/Unix environment
• Analysis, design, coding, testing, and integration of software components
• Development on embedded systems and distributed architectures
• Implementation of real-time and multithreading solutions
• Version management using Git and SVN
• Use of build automation tools
• Preparation of technical documentation according to program standards
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary technical teams

What are we looking for in you?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 3–7 years of experience in Linux/C++ software development

Excellent knowledge of:

• Linux / GNU Linux (advanced)
• C++ (advanced), C (intermediate)
• Git (advanced), SVN (intermediate)
• OOP and software engineering principles
• Distributed software architectures
• TCP/IP and network protocols
• REST APIs
• Build systems (Make, CMake)
• Familiarity with multithreading development and real-time systems

Welcome skills:

• Qt
• Python, Java
• Docker
• Linux Real-Time
• Visual Studio, Eclipse
• LPIC-1 certification or equivalent

Soft skills

• Problem-solving and analytical attitude
• Ability to work in complex technical teams

Languages

• Technical English written level B2 (reading NATO/MIL technical documentation)
• Native Italian

Work location: Rome

⏳ Hours: Full-time

The position includes a salary range commensurate with the candidate's experience and skills, with an indicative annual gross salary (RAL) between €30,000-€40,000
