Ideal Candidate

Computer Science (or related field) degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience
Proficiency in Java. Plus for Python (optional), Perl is nice to have.
Experience with crafting and building scalable and flexible distributed systems.
Strong algorithm and problem-solving skills
Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
Experience working with Kubernetes and Docker will be considered a plus.
Excellent English communication (written and spoken) skills.

Job Description

Do you want to play a pivotal role in protecting Booking.com user accounts against evolving threats? Are you eager to harness the full potential of data analysis to stay ahead of the curve? If your answer is yes, then join us in building a complex big data system that will ingest and enrich all necessary data streams across the security platform! Our work will directly impact end users, contributing to the protection of their accounts, and ensuring a positive experience on Booking.com!

You will be involved in building the software applications to support our high-performance requests in terms of data availability and consistency, response time, and traffic patterns. On top of standard programming languages, you will get the chance to work with the latest tech stack: Snowflake, Airflow, Spark, Kafka.

This role provides a hybrid way of working with an onsite presence of 2 days/week.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

Play a key role in building and maintaining distributed software applications to provide tools for manual and automated security incidents investigations and remediation, enrich our analysis and machine learning models.
Focus on innovation to address complex technical issues associated with distributed systems.
Own the solution end to end, from design and implementation to deployment and monitoring in production.
Cultivate a collaborative environment by serving as a mentor and coach for the team members.
Make us better as an organization by communicating your improvement ideas and proposals to partners beyond your team.
