Software Developer Rust (m/w/d) Essen or Munich | Security

We are looking for a software developer to strengthen our IT security team in a technologically demanding environment. The focus is on the further development of a central system for managing and configuring critical network infrastructure.

The role is aimed at developers who enjoy working closely with systems, understand complex software architectures, and want to actively contribute to the development of safer digital solutions.

Tasks

• You will actively develop a client-server application for managing critical network devices.
• You will work on a modern software solution for controlling and configuring encryption settings.
• You will implement functions in a tech stack consisting of Rust, as well as additional modern web and system technologies.
• You will develop security-relevant software components with a focus on stability, maintainability, and performance.
• You will integrate existing libraries and interfaces into a complex system landscape.
• You will work closely with product teams and other stakeholders in an agile environment.
• You will support the automation of tests and quality assurance.
• You can expect the following tech stack: Rust, React, C++, Node.js, TypeScript, NPM, Playwright, Cargo, Conan

Qualification

• Experience in software development, preferably in a system-oriented environment.
• Very good knowledge of Rust and safe handling with Linux systems.
• Understanding of complex software architectures and distributed systems.
• Interest in topics such as network security and cryptographic procedures.
• Experience with modern development processes (e.g. CI/CD, Git, containerization) is an advantage.
• Team-oriented working style in agile structures.
