Software Architect (m/w/x) Berlin / Retail

A growing technology company with a focus on Enterprise-Software, high engineering excellence, and an international customer base is looking for an experienced Software Architect, who develops technical vision, architecture strategy, and product development to the next level.

In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the technical direction of entire product lines – with high decision-making authority, close exchange with engineering and product teams, and visible influence on long-term platform strategies.

Aufgaben

• You develop the technical vision, define a clear architecture strategy, and set guidelines for scalable, performant systems.
• You work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Product Management, and external partners to integrate technical requirements precisely into the product development process.
• You ensure that technical decisions align with security-, quality- and architecture principles of the overall platform.
• You support teams in backlog prioritization, assess risks, dependencies, and technical feasibility.
• You monitor progress, quality, and architecture compliance and drive sustainable technical development forward.
• You initiate refactorings, modernizations, and proof-of-concepts to ensure technical excellence.
• You moderate technical workshops and form solutions together with interdisciplinary teams.
• You translate complex technical relationships for stakeholders clearly, structured, and persuasively.

Qualifikation

• A completed degree in IT, economics or a related field.
• Multiple years of experience as a Software Architect, Technical Product Owner, or Lead Engineer.
• In-depth understanding of modern software architectures such as Microservices, Cloud- & Edge-Architectures, Container Technologies.
• Knowledge in the area of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Monitoring, Security, Configuration Management.
• Experience with IAM concepts, Observability Architectures, and automated deployment workflows.
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Git, Kubernetes, Terraform.
• Sovereign in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban) – with joy in rapid iteration, technical depth, and ownership.
• Strong communication and moderation skills to convey technical decisions clearly and persuasively.
• Very good German and English language skills.
