Job description
Role: Snowflake Data Architect
Role & Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end Snowflake architectures: databases, schemas, warehouses, shares, resource monitors and account-level configuration to meet performance and compliance goals.
- Lead migrations from legacy warehouses to Snowflake: define migration strategy, data modelling, ETL/ELT mapping, validation, and cutover plans.
- Optimize query performance and cost: implement clustering strategies, materialized views, result caching, pruning, and concurrency/auto-scaling tuning.
- Define and enforce security, governance and data-sharing patterns: RBAC, masking policies, network policies, encryption, and data lineage integration.
- Implement automation and IaC for Snowflake provisioning and lifecycle management (Terraform or equivalent); integrate CI/CD for dbt/ELT pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Partner with engineering, analytics and DevOps teams to embed observability, cost governance and best practices; mentor engineers and create operational runbooks.
