Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Position Overview SREs at ITJ support our mission by pushing out new features and applications every day. The Site Reliability Engineering team constantly practices the DevOps mindset to build and deploy distributed, fault-tolerant systems at scale. As part of this team, you will work with developers, operations, and product sponsors to help design, build, and deploy the critical infrastructure needed. Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following: Design and enhance software infrastructure and automation systems to improve performance and reliability. Participate in the full lifecycle of software development, including design, development, testing, and deployment. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, including performance bottlenecks, outages, and security vulnerabilities. Monitor system performance and proactively identify and address potential issues. Develop and maintain documentation and runbooks for operational procedures. Collaborate with other engineering teams to improve system design and operability. Participate in on-call rotation to respond to system incidents. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or related role. Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and networking concepts. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Ansible. Strong scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python or Bash. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bonus Points Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
