Site Engineer

Job description

Location: Cape Town Job Type: Limited Duration Contract Description: RPO's client is seeking two skilled Site Engineers to ensure the successful completion of quality projects within both the project time frames and budget. The role involves coordinating all relevant parties and implementing processes, practices, and solutions that ensure maximum efficiency and control of costs during the construction process. Responsibilities: Risk Management: Proactively report and address risks. Draft risk assessments and mitigation plans. Monitor and track risks throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Coordinate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize potential risks. Implement controls and measures to minimize or eliminate identified risks. Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards. Identify and report any deviations from quality standards. Implement corrective actions as necessary. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and schedules. Site Management: Coordinate and manage site activities, including labor, materials, and equipment. Ensure effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and clients. Manage site resources to ensure efficient use of time, materials, and budget. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Budgeting: Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and tracking of costs. Identify and report any variances from budget. Implement corrective actions as necessary. Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders, including clients, management, and team members. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project milestones, issues, and changes. Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 5 years' experience in site engineering or a related field. Strong understanding of construction processes, quality control, and risk management. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
