Site & Construction Engineer, Mechanical Systems – HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting

ESA Engineering is seeking a Site & Construction Engineer, Mechanical Systems – HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting for its Rome office.

Job Description:

The resource will work in coordination with the Works Supervision team and Project & Construction Management, taking care of specialized Works Supervision activities for plant engineering, including:

• conducting periodic site visits and preparing reports on the conformity and proper completion of mechanical systems;
• participating in coordination meetings and site technical meetings, providing necessary support for the management and resolution of site issues;
• responding to technical queries and requests for clarification from the contractor, interfacing with the project team when necessary;
• evaluating material/construction submission sheets for mechanical systems;
• analyzing the work schedule and periodically verifying the progress of works;
• identifying and reporting situations that may have consequences on meeting deadlines, budget, and quality of works;
• providing assistance for the technical-functional-performance testing activities of mechanical systems;
• managing the preparation of required reports (including: minutes, checklists, reports, interim payment certificates - SAL);
• evaluating the consistency and correctness of the works dossier documentation (as-built drawings, certifications, Declaration of Conformity - Di.Co., technical data sheets, start-up reports, maintenance manuals…);
• actively participating in the enrichment and refinement of company tools for the execution, control, and management of specialized Works Supervision activities for plant engineering.

Essential Technical Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Energy / Civil / Environmental engineering;
• at least 2 years of experience in similar roles or related fields;
• background from design/engineering companies, construction companies, or medium-sized installation firms;
• knowledge of various types of mechanical systems;
• good knowledge of materials and installation, commissioning, and operating criteria for various types of mechanical systems is a plus;
• experience and/or aptitude for carrying out project management activities for the construction and commissioning phases, managing internal resources, and planning activities related to the specialized Works Supervision service is desirable;
• knowledge of written and spoken English (including technical English) is desirable;
• good knowledge of tools: Office, Autocad 2D, and preferably Autodesk Revit.

• good analytical and logical reasoning skills;
• ability to plan and manage one's own activities proactively;
• goal-oriented attitude with a results-driven approach;
• orientation towards working in multidisciplinary teams.

Work Location: Rome (RM) – willingness to undertake short business trips to construction sites
