Job description
Purpose: The Sr. Engineer – AFD Production is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of shift operations within the AFD division, including mill production, separator production, furnace operations, and manpower deployment. This role ensures optimal productivity, adherence to quality and safety standards, and efficient material handling. The position demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and coordination skills to maintain seamless production flow and support continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implementing shift plans and schedules to ensure effective use of resources and minimize downtime. • Coordinating with other departments to optimize production processes and improve overall efficiency. • Conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. • Identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact production or employee well-being. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve problems and implement improvements. The ideal candidate will possess: • Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and direct a team of engineers and technicians. • Technical expertise in mechanical systems, electrical systems, and process control. • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions. • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. • Certification in a relevant field (e.g., OSHA, ISO) is an asset.
