SHE Specialist

RPO’s client is seeking an experienced and driven SHE Specialist to oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental operations at their Chloorkop facility. This role is ideal for a compliance-focused professional with a passion for creating safe work environments and a strong understanding of regulatory standards, risk assessments, and behavioural safety practices.

• Oversee daily HSE compliance at the site, ensuring adherence to OSH Act and ISO 45001

• Conduct incident investigations, audits, risk assessments, and compliance inspections

• Review contractor SHE plans and ensure effective safety protocols are implemented

• Lead daily toolbox talks, monitor site safety behaviour, and drive safety performance metrics

• Maintain up-to-date HSE files and documentation, ensuring accurate recordkeeping

• Provide regular feedback to management and assist with SHEQ-related initiatives

• Promote a culture of safety awareness through training, inspections, and daily engagement

• Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, or Quality Management

• 5+ years of SHE experience in an industrial or construction environment

• Working knowledge of ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001 standards

• Strong understanding of South African OSH Act and construction regulations

• Solid risk assessment, audit, and SHE system implementation experience

• Excellent communication, leadership, and reporting skills
