We are looking for you as a Service Technician (w/m/d) for our location in Kassel The filling of this position is possible on a full-time basis.
Your role at Alstom - What moves us
From Kassel, more than 35,000 locomotives have already been sent out into the world: at our traditional Alstom location in Kassel, besides building new service for the well-known Traxx locomotive platform, a growing role is being played. The Corporate Functions significantly contribute to supporting and continuously developing the performance of our locations. In this role, you will report to Marc Oliver Smit and work in a motivated and committed team.
Your tasks:
- Work under the leadership and in collaboration with team leaders and production management
- Timely execution of work at frequently changing maintenance and repair sites within Germany
- Careful processing of given task contents according to documented maintenance schedules and instructions. In this context, test functions, adjust and document accordingly in protocols
- Provide or make available tools, materials, and other auxiliary means as needed for various maintenance activities, independently check correctness and completeness
- Hotline support with fault diagnosis and assistance at the customer's site for further operation
- Analyze faults, damage, and other corrective actions, replace parts or modules, or perform correction settings based on specifications to ensure the orderly and safe condition for further operation of the rail vehicle
- Understand and follow work instructions, standard operating sheets, and task sequencing
- Secondary fault search as needed support
- Use IT systems including MMIS/SES as needed to track progress and status of problems.
- Record and submit reports
- Accurately report on work progress, checklists, and task assignments with the required level of detail, including completion time
- Ongoing improvement

- Be willing to learn (begin an additional 'training' in other skills, e.g., forklift, streetcar driving (if certified), participate in deployments and breakdowns as needed
- Understand safety guidelines, rules, and regulations and adhere to them and follow safe working practices that meet local standards
- A minimum of 3 years of vocational training is required
- In addition, a minimum of 2-year specialized training is required, preferably in the field of rail vehicle technology
- A driver's license class B is necessary
- Travel readiness
- Good English skills
