Job description
Position Summary: Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Service Writer will utilize their experience and knowledge related to a heavy-duty shop environment, to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers by phone, text, email and In-person. All duties related to the Service Writer position will be to ensure smooth workflow for the entire maintenance team and the customers who need access to both services and space. This position will act as ambassador and liaison for the shop, ensuring that all interactions with customers are positive and productive. The Service Writer will be responsible for: • Coordinating with the maintenance team to ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner. • Providing excellent customer service by responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring that all customer needs are met. • Utilizing computer software and other tools to manage and track work orders, customer information, and other relevant data. • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all work performed, including work orders, customer information, and other relevant data. • Collaborating with the maintenance team to identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the performance of work. • Participating in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge. • Performing other duties as assigned by the Shop Manager or other management personnel. Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • 2+ years of experience in a heavy-duty shop environment, preferably in a service writer or similar role. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use computer software and other tools. • Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. • Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in all interactions with customers and coworkers.
