Ideal Candidate

Requirements of the candidate:

- Prior experience in data center operations, server hardware, or physical IT infrastructure (2+ years preferred)
- Solid understanding of server hardware (GPU/CPU architecture, basic networking, storage, PDU/UPS)
- Ability to work independently and make fast decisions during incidents
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Romania as the campus becomes operational
- Working English (spoken/technical) for communication with vendors and international partners
- Attention to detail and discipline in documentation

Nice to have:

- Hands-on experience with NVIDIA GPU servers (H200/B300, RTX PRO, B-series)
- Networking experience (InfiniBand, Ethernet, high-density switching)
- Prior background in colocation or hyperscale/neocloud environments
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA Server+, vendor-specific NVIDIA/Dell/Supermicro)

Job description

Location of the job: Reykjavík, Iceland, permanent base at the atNorth ICE-02 facility

Key responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and commission GPU servers (racking, cabling, initial provisioning)
- Perform preventive and corrective hardware maintenance (GPUs, motherboards, power supplies, storage, rack-level networking)
- Continuously monitor the physical health of the infrastructure (temperatures, power draw, health checks) and escalate incidents quickly
- Diagnose and replace faulty components (RMAs with hardware vendors/suppliers)
- Manage the operational relationship with data center partners (atNorth Iceland) - coordinating with local site teams
- Document operating procedures, hardware inventory, and maintenance history
- Support capacity expansion projects (e.g. B300 cluster deployment) - assist with logistics planning for new installations
- Collaborate with the technical team on rack density, power consumption, and cooling optimization
- Follow physical security protocols and facility compliance requirements (Tier III+ or equivalent)

About the company: The company operates a fleet of approximately 2.000 NVIDIA GPUs, in Romania and currently it's looking to start a new project at atNorth ICE-02 (Iceland), providing compute capacity to AI neoclouds and enterprise clients. We're looking for someone to own the physical operations side of our server infrastructure: installation, maintenance, monitoring, and hardware troubleshooting, ensuring maximum uptime for clients and a solid process for scaling the fleet as it grows.
