Senior Warehouse Operations Supervisor

This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day management of warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, order picking, packing, and shipping. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in warehouse management, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and operational best practices. You will be responsible for supervising a team of warehouse staff, optimizing workflows, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to overall supply chain efficiency. • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to schedules.
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations within the assigned warehouse section.
• Implement and enforce established operational policies and procedures.
• Manage inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and system reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for maximum efficiency.
• Operate and manage Warehouse Management System (WMS) effectively for all operational tasks.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Monitor equipment utilization and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., transportation, customer service) to ensure seamless operations.
• Handle escalated operational issues and provide timely resolutions.

• A relevant qualification or significant experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Operations.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Proficiency in using MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound operational decisions.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting and moving materials.
