Senior Underwriter // W&I

Senior Underwriter // W&I A leading global insurance group is seeking to hire a Senior W&I Underwriter as it continues to expand its transactional risk offering. With a strong international platform, deep carrier relationships, and an ambitious growth strategy, the business is well-placed to deliver continued growth across Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, structuring, and underwriting W&I policies across a wide range of cross-border transactions. Working closely with brokers, the Senior Underwriter will play a key role in the deal team, managing the underwriting process from initial enquiry through to policy issuance. Key Responsibilities: * Underwriting new and renewal W&I business, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines, and maintaining a high level of technical expertise. * Evaluating and analyzing complex financial and legal documentation, including sale and purchase agreements, disclosure letters, and other relevant documents. * Structuring W&I insurance policies to meet the specific needs of clients, including determining appropriate policy limits, retentions, and pricing. * Developing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders. * Collaborating with other members of the underwriting team to share knowledge and expertise. * Contributing to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and best practices. * Assisting in the training and development of junior underwriters. * Monitoring and analyzing market trends and developments in the W&I insurance market. Key Requirements: * Proven experience in underwriting W&I insurance, with a strong understanding of transactional risk. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex financial and legal information. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients. * Sound understanding of insurance principles, underwriting practices, and regulatory requirements. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Experience in cross-border transactions is preferred. * Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACII) are desirable.
