As a Senior UI/UX Designer (all genders), you will be responsible for the visual design of sophisticated specialist applications, portals, and information offerings in interdisciplinary project teams – in the Public and Health sectors, as well as in regulated industries of the private sector, such as the energy sector.

You will give complex digital products a clear, independent, and high-quality visual language. From the overarching visual guiding idea to layout, typography, and visual hierarchy, to the elaboration of components, interactions, and states. This will result in responsive, low-barrier, and technically implementable interfaces that provide orientation even with high technical complexity.

You will move confidently between customer requirements, findings from user research, conception, and visual implementation: You think strategically about design, drive design processes forward, and combine conceptual strength with a high degree of visual precision – also at the interface between design and technical implementation.

For you, design systems are not a byproduct, but the backbone of your work: You build them, maintain them consistently across products, and ensure that they are actually adopted in development. And you use AI where it makes your work better: faster to variations and implementation, broader in research and analysis, more consistent in quality assurance – without relinquishing control.

• You will be responsible for the design process in customer projects, from the vision and definition of the design language to the final UI. You will design visually and technically challenging user flows and interfaces for complex applications in a consistent, accessible, and implementable way.
• You will strategically advise our customers and project teams on the further development of their digital products: You will combine user perspective and market observation, present options, and justify design decisions in a way that they are accepted within the customer's organization.
• You will be responsible for design systems throughout their entire lifecycle and ensure that the design system is lived by the team: documentation, contribution rules, reviews, and training of colleagues and customers.
• You will advise customers at eye level, moderate workshops, and make design decisions understandable – also to non-design stakeholders. Where product and communication interact, you will consider both together.
• You will take on the creative lead for bids and tenders and present in pitches.
• You will use AI tools specifically in the design process and share your experiences with the team.
• You will take on the technical leadership of small UX/UI teams in customer projects, providing impulses to the team through design reviews, quality assurance, and mentoring of colleagues.

Must-haves

• At least 5 years of experience in the conception and design of digital products with a focus on UX and UI design.
• Completed degree in Communication Design, Interaction Design, Media Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a comparable qualification.
• In-depth experience in the development, application, and further development of design systems, as well as a strong understanding of quality and a good visual style sense.
• Proficient in UX methods, the design of complex digital applications, and the requirements for digital accessibility.
• Experience in collaboration with development teams in agile environments, as well as in moderating workshops and presenting design solutions to customers and stakeholders.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your work from problem definition to the final interface, as well as your experience with design systems.
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills.

• Experience in regulated industries such as Public Sector, Health, Energy.
• Experience in the technical leadership of small design teams in customer projects.
• Experience in Art Direction.
• Practical experience with AI-powered products, design processes, prototyping, or code generation.
