Senior Technical Project Manager PKI HSM & Crypto m/f/d

For an ongoing, deadline-critical cryptography project in the financial services sector, we are looking for an experienced, technically adept project management personality who will independently lead an already initiated PKI and HSM project to success. The strategic direction has already been set - now it's about implementation: from ongoing test deployment to stable go-live, in close cooperation with the manufacturer experts. Your tasks: - Taking over and continuing an ongoing test deployment with Thales (HSM) and Keyfactor (PKI/Crypto Inventory) solutions - Steering the transition to stable production operation within a tight timeline - Independent, largely self-sufficient project management with occasional support from the manufacturer - Technical leadership and quality assurance of the manufacturer experts - not just coordination, but active technical thinking - Quick familiarization with an existing project and rapid "pulling together of threads" instead of new conception - Regular reporting and close coordination with the client Your profile: - Several years of experience as a project manager in technically demanding IT security or cryptography projects - Hands-on experience with PKI, HSM, and/or crypto inventory solutions - you can "step down into the technology" yourself if necessary - Experience with Thales (HSM) and/or Keyfactor is an advantage; comparable product experience is also welcome - Ability to understand technical issues, technically steer manufacturer experts, and qualitatively evaluate results - Strong sense of responsibility and independence, even with limited internal support - Fluent German (mandatory) - English skills are an advantage, but not a prerequisite Key - Location: Munich, mostly remote - Contract model: freelance/project-based - Start: as soon as possible with 80-100% utilization - Duration: limited until December 31, 2026, subsequent contract in 2027 dependent on project status - Acceptance: Full-time utilization, as not explicitly stated otherwise in the client briefing - please confirm in the interview. - Compensation: within the usual market range - Hourly rate
