As a Senior Technical Administrator, you are at home in both the technology and the management processes of the security systems used daily within the Defense Cyber Security Center. You will work process- and project-oriented to keep our DCSC security systems always up-to-date and available. You will not do this alone, of course; you will be part of a dynamic team of designers, technical, and functional administrators. Together with your team, you ensure that our security systems are always up-to-date and available. This is a crucial task, where you can use your knowledge and skills to guarantee the security of our systems. Part of this also involves participating in our on-call services.
As a Senior Technical Administrator, you are responsible for the technical management of the tooling used by DCSC and the implementation of new DCSC tooling. Among other things, you will take care of the planning and coordination towards the administrators and first-line administrators for these tasks. Furthermore, the focus is also on the DCSC management processes used in accordance with the ITIL methodology.
Your tasks are diverse and challenging, consisting of a mix of processes and technology:
Technical tasks include, among others, determining the impact of migrations or management projects. Executing planned changes and controls. Testing proposed changes/migrations/projects. Configuring application-related items in various systems. Investigating and finding solutions for improvements, deviations, and problems. Process tasks include incident/escalation/project coordination, planning and work preparation for yourself and administrators and first-line administrators, creating and coordinating changes for or on behalf of DCSC, creating plans/proposals for improvements, resolving deviations and fixing problems and coordinating them for administrators and first-line administrators. Creating reports (periodic or on-call). Registering and reporting improvements, deviations, and problems, providing Configuration Management information, and preparing and keeping service and measurement reports up-to-date.
In addition, guiding and coaching junior and mid-level technical administrators is an important part of this role, where employees are supported and helped in improving their skills and knowledge.

Job Requirements

Knowledge/Education Requirements:
- HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level, preferably a completed education in ICT or a comparable combination of education and experience, verifiable in an assessment if necessary.

Required Experience:
- Experience in the field of technical management, familiar with management processes in accordance with ITIL;
- Experience with Linux and Windows;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a mid-level administrator at an operational level;
- Experience with automation solutions such as Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, and automating tasks/processes;
- Experience with container solutions such as Docker, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes
- Managing junior and mid-level administrators.

Desired Experience:
- Technical knowledge of Endpoint Agents management or the willingness to acquire it;
- Technical knowledge of ElasticSearch/ElasticSecurity or the willingness to acquire it through certifications.
- Technical knowledge of network equipment or the willingness to acquire it through certifications.

Working Conditions

Salary level Civil Service Scale IBBAD 10 - Civil Service Scale IBBAD 10 Salary description The stated salary is based on your work experience and educational background and is based on a full-time workweek of 38 hours. Upon hiring, you can choose to extend your working hours to 40 hours, or reduce them to 36 hours per week, with the option of working 4 days of 9 hours per week. Designing, building, and managing all cybersecurity systems, applications, and infrastructure for DCSC.

The DCSC makes a unique proactive and reactive contribution to the security of information on IT networks and (weapon) systems of Defense and Dutch society (digital resilience). The DCSC is the primary point of contact for defensive cyber within Defense. DCSC collaborates with national and international partners on the protection of 'digital information,' innovations, and knowledge building within the digital domain.
