Senior Technician / Equipment Engineer – Photonics Semiconductor Facility
Job description
We are currently supporting a cutting-edge photonics semiconductor company in the search for a Senior Technician / Equipment Engineer to join their growing team. This is a highly hands-on position within a small-scale, advanced manufacturing environment, focused on equipment operation, maintenance, and reliability. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily fab activities while also interfacing with suppliers and contributing to technical projects. Key Responsibilities Operations: • Ensure the smooth operation of all equipment and tools within the facility; • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal performance; • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment-related issues promptly; • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and improve overall efficiency. Technical Projects: • Participate in technical projects aimed at improving process yields, reducing costs, and enhancing product quality; • Develop and implement new procedures or modify existing ones to improve manufacturing efficiency; • Work closely with the engineering team to design and develop new equipment or modify existing ones to meet changing business needs. Supplier Interface: • Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and services; • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process; • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality, safety, and environmental regulations. Requirements Education: • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or physics; • 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the semiconductor industry; • Strong understanding of equipment operation, maintenance, and reliability principles. Skills: • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team; • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues; • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously; • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
