Senior Tax Accountant

FourQuarters has partnered with an expanding firm who are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to take a hands-on leadership role. This position combines strong technical accounting and tax expertise with day-to-day practice management, staff supervision, and client relationship management. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations, workflow planning, and lodgement schedules Prepare and review tax returns (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships), BAS/IAS, payroll and financial statements Maintain client communication and build strong client relationships Research and resolve complex tax issues Identify tax planning opportunities and provide recommendations Mentor and train junior staff Contribute to the development and implementation of tax strategies and procedures Ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation and regulations Manage and monitor deadlines and ensure timely lodgements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field CPA or CA certification Proven experience in tax accounting, including experience with tax return preparation and review Strong understanding of Australian tax legislation and regulations Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship skills Leadership and mentoring experience Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in relevant accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) Benefits Competitive salary and benefits package Professional development opportunities Supportive and collaborative work environment Opportunity to grow within the firm
