Senior System Test Engineer (m/f/d)

Aufgaben

As Sr System Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end testing of our complex defense systems. You will oversee the entire test lifecycle – from conception and development of test environments to laboratory and flight tests, and final system qualification. With your experience, you ensure that our systems meet the highest requirements for performance, robustness and reliability.

• You lead the design and development of test systems and infrastructure for rockets, guided missiles and launch vehicles
• You build test environments, configure them and ensure a stable integration of hardware and software
• You develop and conduct Hardware-in-the-Loop tests to verify system functions early on and under realistic conditions
• You define, document and maintain test procedures according to relevant standards and certification requirements
• You coordinate tests with internal teams and external testing facilities and accompany trials conducted by partners or third-party providers
• You define flight test instrumentation, integrate and calibrate it, and ensure precise data collection during test campaigns
• You plan and coordinate flight tests – from preparation to execution to post-test activities while adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements
• You analyze test results, prepare data in a structured manner and create informative technical reports
• You create qualification-relevant documentation and support compliance with military and aerospace standards
• You work closely with teams from mechanics, electronics, propulsion, control engineering and system development to implement comprehensive and continuous testing concepts

Qualifikation

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a comparable field
• Multiple years of professional experience in testing complex technical systems, including test system design, HIL tests and flight trials
• Practical experience in building test infrastructure, integrating measurement technology and data collection and evaluation
• Knowledge of qualification and certification processes in the aerospace or defense sector, as well as relevant standards (e.g. MIL-STD, AECTP)
• Fundamental understanding of embedded systems and control architectures, as well as the ability to work interdisciplinarily with mechanics, propulsion and software teams
• Able to handle explosives is an advantage
• Structured, solution-oriented working style and excellent team and communication skills
• Nationality: EU or NATO member state (excluding USA)
• German language skills at native speaker level are mandatory; very good English language skills are expected
