Senior System Engineer (m/w/d) - Focus Windows
Job description

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a motivated Senior System Engineer (m/w/d) - Focus Windows.
What awaits you:
- Responsibility for planning, implementation, and maintenance of Windows-server-based customer systems / large customer environments
- Participation in migration and transition projects for large customer environments from the concept phase to the managed service
- Responsibility for conceiving and implementing monitoring concepts including dashboard development for monitoring customer infrastructure
- Monitoring and optimization of system performance as well as ensuring system stability and security
- Error analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving management in complex Windows environments
- Further development and automation of system management and deployment processes using scripting (PowerShell, Batch)
- Creation of technical concepts and solution descriptions as well as operation documentation
- Documented systems and processes, including knowledge transfer to the team
- Management and optimization of vCloud environments for supporting private cloud solutions
- Safety of highly available, scalable, and performant system architectures on VMware-based platforms (also through the use of standby services)
- Closely working with internal teams and external partners to meet our customers' needs.
- Closely working with the customer (IT department as well as specialist departments)
We look forward to:
- Degree in computer science or comparable degree
- Multiple years of experience in system engineering, with a focus on Windows
- Fundamental knowledge and secure handling of ITIL processes, especially in large customer services
- Safe handling of Atlassian products such as Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence
- Fundamental knowledge in Windows Server (e.g. 2019, 2022, 2025) and Windows Client operating systems
- Experience with Active Directory, Federation Services, Entra/M365, Exchange Server, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, SCCM, and other Microsoft technologies
- Experience with file servers, cluster services
- Knowledge in virtualization (e.g. VMware, vCloud Director) and cloud services (azure, AWS) is advantageous
- Knowledge of security procedures hardening Windows systems according to CIS Level (implementation through GPOs, etc.)
- Experience in transition/migration projects for customer environments (planning, execution, recognizing, and resolving dependencies)
- Professional consulting internally and on the customer side for building Microsoft environments
- Very good problem-solving skills and a structured working method
- Experience in exchanging with Nearshore teams (English communication)
- Experiences in customer communication, e.g. ticket processing, developing technical solutions, accompanying and supporting at customer workshops
- Teamwork ability, communication strength, and self-initiative
- Very good German and English skills in writing and speaking
