We are presently accepting resumes for 1 Full-Time Temporary Assignment Senior Support Worker to work in our group homes in Orillia. This position provides supportive services to meet the needs of the people in accordance with the policies and procedures of Empower Simcoe and legislative requirements in the Accommodation program in Orillia utilizing the Personal Outcomes philosophy. The Senior Support Worker provides leadership and direction to staff by assigning and prioritizing duties and assignments in consultation with the Supervisor. This position works up to 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday. This is a 6 month contract position.

Compensation Package:

  • Additional hours may be available with a minimum rate of pay of $28.69/hour;
  • 11 paid Statutory Holidays;

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Developmental Service Worker Diploma or an acceptable educational equivalency (Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, Social Service Worker, Nursing, Psychology, etc.) as determined by the employer is required;
  • Candidates who have a completed Degree or Diploma from an accredited college or university in an unrelated field must have 2 years full-time work experience directly supporting people;

  • Minimum one-year recent full-time work experience working in a group living setting providing support for persons with intellectual disability is required;
