What you will do at Movares

• You are the figurehead of our vision on urban nodes and housing development. Spatial development within the urban context is familiar territory for you. You represent Movares externally, strengthening our network and way of thinking;

• With your clear vision, you manage multidisciplinary teams and complex area developments, utilizing innovation and (technical) knowledge to enhance spatial quality;

• You contribute early in processes with innovative solutions for the living environment and actively share your expertise with younger colleagues.

At Movares, we work on the city of tomorrow. On places where densification, mobility, and quality of life come together. We are looking for a senior urban planner to give direction to this: substantively strong, design-driven, and with enjoyment at the heart of the profession.

As a senior urban planner at Movares, you are a substantive leader within complex area developments. You work on urban densification, housing development, and nodes, translating societal challenges into sharp analyses, spatial concepts, and convincing designs. With your vision, you bring coherence between scales, disciplines, and interests, ensuring that spatial quality always remains the starting point. You are involved early, contribute to direction and strategy, and develop innovative solutions for the living environment. You work in multidisciplinary teams where design, mobility, spatial planning, and technology reinforce each other. You are also a natural sparring partner for colleagues: you share knowledge, refine ideas, and guide junior urban planners in their development. With your experience and network, you actively contribute to Movares' visibility and substantive positioning in the field.

You are an initiative-taking and enthusiastic urban planner with a clear vision, someone who makes the world a little more beautiful every day. You naturally bring people along with your vision, remain curious, communicate with crystal clarity, and know how to inspire, coach, and motivate colleagues to achieve the highest possible together. Furthermore, you build strong client relationships and are a trusted point of contact.

This is what you also bring: 

• a completed WO degree in Urban Design / Urban Planning (TU or Academy of Architecture), and at least 10 years of relevant work experience;

• interest in societal challenges such as sustainable mobility, climate adaptation, and energy transition;

• experience with programs such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, GIS, and Sketchup is a plus;

Your team at Movares

You will strengthen the Landscape and Urban Planning team, where you will collaborate with architects and other creative spatial thinkers. With over 50 colleagues, you will combine design power, vision, and craftsmanship within the Movares organization. That team is under full development. Therefore, we are looking for seniority that combines knowledge and experience with new insights regarding area development and urban nodes.

You will work on projects that improve the quality of the living environment. We combine creativity with technical knowledge to design integrated solutions for urban and landscape issues. You will join a multidisciplinary team of designers and advisors, where intensive collaboration takes place with specialists in areas such as spatial planning, mobility, ecology, and technology. We are a close-knit team where collaboration and mutual support are a given. In short, you will enter an environment where substantive challenges and a pleasant working atmosphere go hand in hand.
