Senior Specialist, System Support III - Linux and Medical Imaging

The Senior Specialist, system support – Level III acts as a senior technical expert within the TI team in healthcare, providing advanced support for radiology information systems (RIS), picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), vendor-neutral archives (VNA) and other imaging platforms. This role is responsible for resolving complex technical issues, optimizing system performance, supporting integrations and guiding junior team members. The ideal candidate has solid experience in TI environments in radiology, mastery of interoperability standards and plays a key role in the availability, security and compliance of critical systems in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues related to RIS, PACS, VNA and other integrated systems
  • Lead diagnostic efforts involving interoperability protocols such as DICOM, HL7 and IHE, to ensure smooth data exchange
  • Collaborate with clinical stakeholders, internal TI teams and external providers to resolve systemic issues and improve workflows
  • Contribute to planning and execution of updates, migrations and system fixes
  • Develop and implement best practices for monitoring, alerts and performance optimization
  • Guide junior support specialists in diagnosing problems and documenting solutions; promote knowledge sharing and cross-training
  • Participate in developing disaster recovery strategies, backup procedures and testing
  • Maintain rigorous documentation of incidents, resolutions, procedures and known issues
  • Participate in continuous process improvement and tool support
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FDA regulations, ISO 13485 standard and internal cybersecurity policies
  • Collaborate with project teams to support technical execution of new implementations or system integrations
  • Contribute to reviewing and creating support documentation, user guides and internal manuals
  • Respond to incoming client calls and offer direct phone support, ensuring professional and efficient communication
  • Work according to a schedule including evening and weekend shifts
  • Offer after-hours support in the context of a rotating on-call schedule, including holidays and weekends, for priority incidents
