Your mission will be to build and automate Financial Controlling at PAUL from the ground up, so that we always have valid, up-to-date financial key figures available for sound decision-making. In doing so, you will combine Finance, Automation, Steering, Data and Vibe Coding with an independent, solution-oriented approach.

Senior Specialist Financial Controlling & Automation (m/f/d) in Mannheim

Your Tasks

Building & Steering Financial Controlling

• You will be responsible for setting up Financial Controlling at PAUL from scratch.
• You will independently and continuously monitor financial performance and derive concrete measures in close coordination with the Finance Leadership.

Automation & Vibe Coding

• You will independently develop automated controlling solutions using Vibe Coding (Claude Code) and continuously expand them.
• You will develop your own tools for the optimization and scaling of close-meshed Financial Controlling.

Data Model & Reporting

• You will define the data model and reporting cadence for Financial Controlling.
• You will ensure the highest data quality to provide reliable decision-making bases.

Data Integration & Provision

• You will make financial data available across systems using an API-first approach.
• You will be responsible for continuous, automated data supply to adjacent systems and stakeholders.

What you bring with you

Professional Background

• What you can do and what you bring is more important to us than your education or degree – typical paths into this role are nevertheless: a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance & Controlling, or a comparable qualification, with demonstrable responsibility in the independent setup or further development of Financial Controlling structures.
• You come from roles such as Financial Controller, Business Controller, Finance Business Partner, or FP&A Analyst, for example.
• You have a sound understanding of financial key figures, cost accounting, budgeting, and corporate steering.

Experience & Methods

• You have experience in the independent setup of controlling structures and processes in the finance area.
• You use Vibe Coding (e.g., with Claude Code) to independently develop automation solutions for reporting and controlling.
• You define key figures, reporting cadences, and data models for precise steering of financial performance, consistently working in a data-driven manner.

Tools, Systems & Language

• You are proficient in common finance and controlling tools as well as Excel/BI tools at an advanced level.
• You have practical experience with AI-supported coding tools such as Claude Code or comparable solutions.
• You communicate confidently in German and English.
• Advantageous: Startup experience and the willingness to go the extra mile.
