Senior Software QA Engineer

The Senior QA is a key technical figure in the Architecture, Platforms & Quality Assurance Team of Iliad Italia S.p.A. Reporting to the Head of Architecture and Quality Assurance, they are the guarantor of quality, defining strategy, processes, and quality standards within the Software Factory. Combining solid technical skills and leadership capabilities, they are able to blend process vision with daily operations. Following the general directions and vision of the factory, they will be responsible for the following activities:


  • Define and maintain the overall QA strategy, including test plans, acceptance criteria, and quality standards
  • Design and optimize testing processes within the development cycle (shift-left testing)
  • Define and monitor quality KPIs and metrics (defect density, test coverage, escape rate, MTTR) by structuring reports for stakeholders
  • Evaluate, select, and introduce test tools and frameworks in line with project needs
  • Design, develop, and maintain the architecture of test automation frameworks
  • Ensure the integration and stability of automated tests in CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with the DevOps team for the management, provisioning, and stability of test environments
  • Lead the definition of testing strategies
  • Actively develop and maintain automated tests, contributing to the automation codebase
  • Actively participate in sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives as the quality owner
  • Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into testable acceptance criteria
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on complex issues
  • Provide technical support to the team's QA Engineers in resolving complex problems



REQUIREMENTS


Must have

  • 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, with at least 2 years in a role responsible for test strategy and quality processes
  • Consolidated experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks (UI and API)
  • Proficiency in modern test automation tools (Playwright, Cypress) and API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured)
  • Direct experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests
  • Experience in defining QA processes, quality gates, and release criteria
  • In-depth knowledge of Git and versioning practices
  • Experience with project management and bug tracking tools (Jira, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Ability to define and analyze quality metrics and translate them into concrete actions
  • Excellent communication and prioritization skills
  • Good knowledge of English


Nice to have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience with load and performance testing tools (e.g., k6, JMeter, Gatling)
  • Knowledge of Docker and containerized environments
  • Experience with mobile testing and related frameworks (Appium, Detox)
  • Scripting/programming skills (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript)
  • Knowledge of SQL for data validation and analysis



PAY TRANSPARENCY

Let's start with transparency: the planned Gross Annual Salary (RAL) for the role starts from 37,500.00 gross annual euros, to which the iliad benefits package is added.

This figure represents the minimum of the salary range planned for the position.

The economic offer may therefore increase based on various elements, including professional experience gained, technical skills, educational background, soft skills, aptitudes, and the profile's consistency with the responsibilities and objectives of the role.
