We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Wikimedia Enterprise in New Zealand.In this role, you will design, build, and maintain high-impact services that deliver Wikimedia content to organizations at scale. You will contribute to the long-term technical roadmap, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of data feeds used by high-volume consumers. Working within a globally distributed, startup-like engineering team, you will tackle complex technical challenges while fostering collaboration across product and infrastructure teams. • Develop, deploy, and maintain highly reliable data feeds and services for large-scale content distribution.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to plan, implement, and execute the technical roadmap.
• Design scalable infrastructure, architect new services, and optimize existing systems to ensure high performance.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the application stack and production infrastructure.
• Participate in incident response, diagnosis, and follow-up for system outages or alerts.
• Contribute to best practices, tooling, and automation to improve operational efficiency and system reliability.
• Share knowledge and mentor team members on software engineering and infrastructure standards.
