Senior Software Engineer SmartFIX (m/w/d)

We support our customers from the insurance sector in expanding and further developing their SmartFIX system landscape and are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer SmartFIX with advanced analysis and development skills.

Start: 1st or 15th January 2026

End: 30th June 2026

Workload: 4–5 days/week

Location: Remote + On-site in the Frankfurt metropolitan area

Tasks

• Analyse and evaluation of requirements from IT and departmental areas
• Consultation regarding technical implementation options, integration scenarios, and alternatives
• Conceptualization, technical specification, and documentation of new SmartFIX adaptations under existing architectural guidelines
• Implementation of new developments in the SmartFIX environment (Coding, configuration, integration)
• Conducting developer tests, code reviews, and quality assurance
• Collaboration with other developers, testers, and architects

Qualification

• In-depth experience with SmartFIX (implementation, customization, interfaces, process logic)
• Solid knowledge in Software Development / Coding (e.g. Java, Groovy, XML transformations or comparable relevant technologies in the SmartFIX context)
• Familiarity with Enterprise architectures, integrations, message flows, and technical specifications
• Experience in Requirements Engineering as well as technical consulting
• Clean, traceable working method and experience with coding and architecture standards
• Knowledge of the regulated environment (Bank/Finance) an advantage
