Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) – Sub-Project Management
Job description
Your Responsibilities
- You will assume the functional and technical responsibility for several sub-projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and according to quality specifications.
- You will coordinate these sub-projects with the Team Lead, Project Manager, other sub-projects, and various client contacts.
- You will actively influence the planning and control of all sub-projects to ensure the successful completion of the overall project.
- You will work cross-functionally on the architecture and direction of the overall project and bring new ideas to the team.
- You will analyze existing systems and develop solutions for modernization and further development.
- You will design and implement new software components based on Java (e.g., with Quarkus).
- You will develop and integrate synchronous (e.g., REST/JSON) and asynchronous interfaces (e.g., Kafka) into existing system landscapes.
- You will actively participate in system integration as well as integration and system tests.
- You will work closely with clients and business departments in technical and functional coordination.
- You will plan and accompany sprints (Planning, Reviews) in an agile environment.
- You will create and prioritize user stories together with stakeholders.
Your Profile
These are your technical requirements:
- Several years of experience (approx. 5+ years) in software development with Java
- Experience in IT project management, ideally in managing sub-projects in an agile environment
- Proficient in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DB2)
- Experience with test frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, WireMock)
- Familiarity with modern development processes (Git, Code Reviews, CI/CD)
- Experience with cloud environments (e.g., Azure) as well as REST interfaces is an advantage
- Knowledge of bill of materials systems, e.g., from mechanical or automotive engineering, is a plus, but not a must
