We are looking for an experienced software engineer:

We are looking for an experienced software engineer for the development of product-oriented applications in the education sector, with a clear emphasis on backend, infrastructure, and robust software architecture. Machine Learning, LLMs, and data-driven functions play an important role, but should be pragmatically and user-oriented implemented. The position is aimed at individuals with project experience, not just academically or theoretically oriented profiles.

Your workplace will primarily be remote within Germany, we support flexible working time models.

Tasks

• BUILD PRODUCT PORTFOLIO: You think about the on- and offboarding of product lines in the coaching area. You are part of the ideation process and make market analyses and evaluate products based on their sales.
• STEER PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: You work with many interfaces to shape products digitally and offline.
• HOLD TRAININGS: You prepare training sessions and explain coaches and salespeople the background of the product and its properties.
• FULFILL CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: You support the certification department in concept development and preparation for product certification.
• PROMOTE LEARNING CULTURE: You are part of a team that actively shapes and develops the learning culture of our educational measures.

Qualification

• Career Background: You have at least 5 years of professional experience in software development, ideally with several productively used applications or platforms. It would be desirable to have experience with LLM-based product functions, prompting, retrieval systems, or multi-stage KI workflows as well as software development experience from before the current GenAI boom, with a corresponding view on maintainability, architecture, and realistic product maturity.
• Expertise: You have very good knowledge of Python and fundamental experience in backend development, e.g. Ruby on Rails, Django, FastAPI or comparable frameworks. You have experience with cloud and infrastructure topics like Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, AWS or Azure and a proven track record in implementing ML-, NLP- or data-based applications, e.g. classification, RAG, embeddings, pipelines or model integration. Experience in complex domains such as education, didactics, knowledge management, healthcare, data platforms or regulated environments would be desirable.
• Methodology: You have an independent, structured working style with high quality standards, good comprehension and secure communication within the team and with departments. Personal skills: You have experience in technical leadership, mentoring, architectural decisions or close cooperation with product owners and stakeholders, which makes it easier for you to get started.
• Linguistic Skills: You possess very good German and English language skills that enable you to communicate effectively.
