Senior Software Engineer mit technischer Verantwortung (m/w/d)
Full Time
Senior
Job description
Since over 47 years, we develop high-precision measurement systems that our demanding customers from various industries and worldwide rely on, despite our still small size of under 30 employees. Our strength has always been precision, reliability, and deep technical understanding, as well as years of experience. And that's what our brand stands for! Now, we find ourselves in an exciting phase where the long-standing reputation of the company with fresh impulses modernizes new leadership structures and develops the company together with the team to make the potential of the company a reality. We are looking for an experienced developer personality who likes to work closely to the product, bring ideas, take responsibility, and develop modern software solutions for real measurement systems in various application areas together with a small, interdisciplinary team. At our company, it's not about quick exits or big promises – but about implementing what others only promise: precise measurement systems that turn ideas into real solutions – for the future of sports performance, research, and industry. Performance, quality, co-creation, and genuine interest in technology, sensorics, measurement systems, and technical future. You will work actively on our software solutions and take simultaneous technical responsibility for the development team. You will develop both frontend (Dart/Flutter) and backend (TypeScript/Firebase) and bring yourself into the development of new ideas, architecture decisions, planning, and prioritization. You will work closely with two developers and two doctoral students, support them technically, and further develop them, conduct peer code reviews, and ensure that the team works together to maintain clean, tested, and well-documented code that meets the company's reputation and shapes the future. As someone who leads, shares knowledge, and takes responsibility. A significant part of your work is structured planning of development tasks: You will prioritize between product development, customer feedback, and internal demand and help improve processes continuously. Through close cooperation on site – especially in the interplay of software, hardware, and sensorics – you will contribute significantly to recognizing problems quickly and solving them sustainably. You are close to customers and work closely with technical leadership and sales to gain a good understanding of what is technically required to create the perfect product in various application areas. In summary: * Active participation in software development * Frontend development with Dart/Flutter * Backend development with TypeScript/Firebase * Technical responsibility for the engineering team * Close cooperation with currently 2 developers and 2 doctoral students * Knowledge sharing, technical support, and further development of new team members * Conducting peer code reviews to ensure code quality * Planning and structuring software projects * Defining technical solutions together * Prioritizing tasks between product development, customer feedback, and internal demand * Supporting architecture and technology decisions * Process and quality management * Further developing existing development processes * Ensuring best practices (testing, code reviews, documentation) * Close cooperation between software, hardware, and sensorics – often on site Qualification: * You bring several years of practical experience in software development (ca. 2+ years or more) and enjoy developing yourself technically as well as in the team. * Formal education is secondary – what matters most are interest, commitment, responsibility, and clean work. * Experience with Flutter or specific technologies is not a must, but helpful. What's much more important is that you have fun learning new things and genuine interest in technical products, measurement systems, and sensorics. * You will work closely together, appreciate face-to-face communication, and understand why certain topics – especially in the interplay of software and hardware – are often better solved on site. * You are structured, can set priorities, and have the necessary experience to understand that not every working day is just about creative processes – but also about perfecting organization, coordination, and occasional "hard work", as sustainable and functioning products are created. In summary: * Several years of practical experience in software development (ca. 2+ years or more) * Solid understanding of modern software development, regardless of specific frameworks * Experience or interest in frontend- and backend-themes * Interest in technical products, measurement systems, and sensorics * Willingness to work on site or hybrid to be close to hardware and systems * Structured and self-reliant working style with good prioritization skills * Enjoy direct cooperation and personal exchange within the team * Study, training, or lateral entry possible – formal degrees are not a must * Sense of responsibility and desire to further develop a team technically Benefits: * We offer: a friendly work climate, short decision-making paths, and an environment where every individual position counts. With the help of long-standing, experienced colleagues in the hardware area, your knowledge will grow in a company that is characterized by excellent reputation, honesty, and transparency – not through unrealistic promises. * You will be part of the transformation of a company that wants to revolutionize the market of measurement sensorics with increasing speed, commitment, and clear vision. * You work in a small team where your opinion counts and you have real influence on product, processes, and future of the company. Our 35-40 hour week is flexible and allows you to structure your work meaningfully instead of being stuck in time slots. Your colleagues are approachable, and we find room for individual wishes and circumstances. * Through proximity to our measurement systems and existing hardware, you will gain deep insights into measurement technology – including years of experience within the company, from which you can learn. At the same time, you have the opportunity to actively shape modern software development and sort out or further develop old structures. In summary: * Friendly, value-based work environment with short decision-making paths * High influence on product, processes, and technical orientation of the company * Close cooperation with experienced colleagues from measurement technology * Deep insights into real measurement systems, sensorics, and hardware-near software development * Flexible working hours at a 35-40 hour week * On-site work with direct access to hardware and test systems * Long-term perspective in a company that has been established for over 47 years and wants to develop new applications * High sense of responsibility and co-participation rights * Opportunity to actively shape the modernization of structures and working methods If you have the feeling that potential, quality, team spirit, and co-creation are more important than buzzwords – then we look forward to getting to know you!
