Senior Software Engineer for Backend & Cloud Infrastructure (m/f/d)

About Us

We are a startup from Hanover, developing an AI-powered computer vision platform for industrial quality inspection. Our full-stack applications are running productively with industrial customers and cover everything from data management and annotation to model training and deployment. You can expect an engineering team of around 20 people with modern work structures and short decision-making paths.

Your Responsibilities

• Responsibility and further development of our backend services: REST APIs, SQL, database migrations
• Conception and management of our Identity and Access Management (SSO, roles, permissions)
• Design of our cloud architecture: Kubernetes, containerized deployments, S3-compatible object storage, CI/CD pipelines
• Responsibility for our production systems: monitoring (OTel), incident response, and reliable operation of critical infrastructure at our customers
• Code reviews, teamwork, and active participation in shaping our agile development process from planning to release

Your Profile

• At least 4 years of professional experience in software development with in-depth expertise in backend and databases
• Practical experience in operating production systems: Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, on-premise and cloud
• Experience in agile collaboration and working with tools like Linear, Jira, or comparable solutions
• Security across the entire stack: you debug APIs, review infrastructure changes, and discuss architectural decisions
• Pragmatic and independent way of working and personal responsibility
• Fluent German and good English skills for daily professional use

Desirable

• Experience with computer vision, ML platforms, distributed computing, or data-intensive systems
• Experience with identity providers and API security
