Senior Software Engineer - AI Development (m/f/d)

Are you already developing software with coding agents today and using AI not just for individual code suggestions, but as an integral part of your development process?

For an established Berlin-based software company, we are looking for an experienced software developer who brings exactly this way of working into an existing development team.

The company develops business-critical software solutions for a group of companies. The software landscape has been extensively modernized in recent years and is today based on, among other things, Java, Spring Boot, and Angular as well as modern architecture and development standards.

Responsibilities

• You develop modern web applications and new features with a consistently AI-supported development approach.
• You use coding agents productively and utilize them across various phases of the development process.
• You develop prototypes and production-ready solutions in short development cycles.
• You work on existing applications and continuously develop the architecture and codebase.
• You identify areas where AI can meaningfully accelerate or automate development processes.
• You will establish modern AI-supported development processes together with the management and the existing development team.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in professional software development
• Very good understanding of modern web development and software architecture
• Practical experience with AI-supported software development and coding agents
• Experience in independently implementing larger features, applications, or prototypes with AI
• Solid understanding of code quality, testing, and maintainable software
• Experience with modern web technologies and at least one established programming language
• Very good German language skills for daily collaboration within the team

Your profile is particularly interesting if you are already working intensively with tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or comparable solutions.

Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD is an advantage, but not a requirement. What is crucial is that you master professional software development and have simultaneously understood how significantly coding agents can change the development process today. The existing technical environment includes, among other things, Java 21, Spring Boot 3, Angular, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD.
