Senior Software Architect & Education Leader

NUS-ISS in Singapore seeks a hands-on software design and teaching professional to design, deliver courses on software architecture, and guide student projects. The ideal candidate will mentor peers, supervise internships, and explore emerging technologies through student projects and consultancy engagements. Qualifications include a degree in Computer Science or IT (Master’s preferred); hands-on experience with modern software practices, OO languages, agile methods, and familiarity with AI/IoT technologies. Responsibilities: Design and deliver Master’s level courses in software architecture and related topics. Supervise Master’s students in their Final Year Projects, providing technical and pedagogical guidance. Mentor and coach junior faculty and teaching assistants in software design and delivery. Identify and explore emerging technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, Cloud-Native, Blockchain) through student projects and consultancy engagements. Contribute to curriculum development and review. Engage in consultancy projects with industry partners, leveraging academic expertise. Requirements: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant industry experience in software architecture and design. Proven experience in teaching, training, or lecturing, preferably at the tertiary level. Strong command of modern software development practices, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and microservices architecture. Proficient in agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban). Familiarity with a range of programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#). Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Understanding of AI/ML, IoT, Blockchain, or other emerging technologies. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
