Senior SMTA Engineer
Job description
We are now looking for a Sr. SMTA Engineer, located in Guadalajara, Mexico, to join our dynamic and diverse team. As a leader in this region, you will implement and enforce NVIDIA’s quality and reliability standards and ensure suppliers performance to these standards throughout the Product Life Cycle. You will be responsible for SMTA operational readiness and ensure suppliers meet all quality and business KPI’s. We design and produce advanced technology PCBA’s used in consumer, auto and enterprise products. If you are passionate about technology and innovation, we invite you to join our team. **What you’ll be doing:** * Lead the SMTA activities in the region, ensuring compliance to Nvidia’s requirements. * Drive continuous improvement through data analysis (e.g., Yield, Defect Rates) and ensure robust and sustainable corrective actions. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, NPI, Procurement, and suppliers) to resolve any SMTA related issues. * Support and drive supplier development and improvement activities to enhance their capability and performance. * Perform quality audits on suppliers to ensure compliance to Nvidia’s requirements. * Review and approve supplier’s manufacturing process and technical documentation (e.g. process flows, control plans, PFMEA, etc.) * Support Product Qualification, Reliability, and Failure Analysis initiatives. * Oversee supplier’s manufacturing line qualification and production validation process. * Travel to supplier sites to perform audits and investigations, as needed. **What we need to see:** * Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. * 5+ years of experience in SMT manufacturing environment. * Strong knowledge of SMT processes, equipment, and materials. * Experience in PCBA manufacturing processes and process control. * Experience working with international suppliers. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Fluent in English and Spanish. * Ability to travel, as needed (estimated at 30%). **Ways to stand out from the crowd:** * Experience with IPC standards. * Knowledge of failure analysis techniques. * Experience with statistical process control (SPC). * Experience with lean manufacturing principles. * Experience with JTAG testing. * Experience in the Automotive industry. * Experience with APQP, PPAP. * Experience with AI and HPC products.
