Requirements:

• This role requires full-time office presence in Johannesburg.
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Deep expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Extensive experience designing and maintaining large-scale, highly available systems
• Strong leadership in defining SLOs, SLAs, and error budget policies
• Expert-level command of container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
• Experience driving reliability culture and blameless post-mortem practices
• Experience working in an English speaking environment

Nice to have:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
• Familiarity with chaos engineering principles and tooling
• Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g. Istio, Linkerd)
• Prior background in software development or systems programming
• Knowledge of a backend language such as Go, Python, or Java
