Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 AUD per annum (commensurate with experience)
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Sheep Farm Worker on behalf of our client, Hillcroft Farms Pty Ltd, a reputable and progressive mixed farming business located in Lol Gray, Western Australia. This is a full-time, permanent role offering an excellent opportunity to take on supervisory responsibility in a commercial sheep farming operation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Senior Sheep Farm Worker will supervise and perform hands-on tasks related to sheep breeding, health, pasture management, and day-to-day animal husbandry. The role involves oversight of seasonal farm workers and contributing to livestock production targets within an integrated cropping and livestock business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Aligned with ANZSCO Code 363215 - Senior Sheep Farm Worker, the successful applicant will:
- Supervise and assist in the daily care, feeding, and management of sheep
- Monitor animal health and coordinate preventative and responsive treatments
- Assist in managing breeding programs including lambing, tagging, and weaning
- Oversee and participate in crutching, shearing, drenching, marking, and drafting
- Organise and supervise the movement of livestock between paddocks and yards
- Maintain records of livestock movements, treatments, and weights
- Coordinate and supervise the activities of junior and seasonal workers
- Assist with paddock and pasture management, including rotational grazing and feed budgeting
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment used in sheep production
- Ensure compliance with biosecurity, animal welfare, and workplace safety standards
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet one of the following:
- Hold an AQF Certificate III or higher in agriculture or livestock management, plus at least 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience (20+ hours/week); OR
- Have at least 3 years of full-time (38+ hours/week) relevant work experience in sheep farming, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Demonstrated experience working in commercial sheep operations
- Strong practical skills in sheep handling, health monitoring, and general husbandry
- Experience supervising farm staff or seasonal workers
- Sound understanding of animal welfare, WHS, and biosecurity procedures
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a rural farming environment
- Competence in operating farm machinery is desirable
- Current manual driver's licence required; additional tickets (e.g. tractor, loader) advantageous
- A competitive full-time salary of $70,000 - $85,000 AUD per annum
