ROLE DESCRIPTION

At Fastweb+Vodafone, we are looking for 1 Senior Service Platform Engineer profile in the Service Platform function within the Technology Team.

Your goal is to introduce flexibility, simplification, automation, and innovation for the fixed and mobile network of the future, through the design, development, and evolution of functional platforms for network services, both fixed and mobile, for both the business and consumer markets.

As a Senior Service Platform Engineer in the Service Platforms function, your activities and responsibilities will be the following:

• Define the requirements for assigned technologies and architectures (e.g., DHCP, RADIUS, DNS, Voicemail, Mail)
• Develop strategies, plans, and initiatives for the transformation of the network and services towards a Network as a Service (NaaS) architecture
• Support and encourage Agile/DevOps methodologies for the development, validation, and commissioning of networking applications, applying GitOps frameworks (CI/CD, test automation, release engineering)
• Manage projects according to company and team priorities
• Design and coordinate the development of solutions and their evolution
• Manage project planning and control phases
• Manage partners and suppliers, monitoring quality, know-how, and adherence to outsourced processes
• Manage scouting processes for new products and suppliers
• Ensure coordination of internal and external resources
• Implement Security and Privacy by Design guidelines in projects

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Computer Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering
• Experience in the Network field, particularly in core network services such as RADIUS, DHCP, DNS, Voicemail, and Mail
• Knowledge of mobile and fixed architectures (access, backbone, and core)
• Experience in ICT systems engineering/development
• Experience working in heterogeneous groups
• Experience in managing project teams
• Skills in programming languages (e.g., Python)
• Skills in automation technologies (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
• Knowledge of cloud computing and network virtualization (NFV, SDN)
• Excellent approach to problem analysis and resolution
• Attention to customer relationships with internal clients, suppliers, and other company functions
• Knowledge in Networking and Network Security fields
