Senior Scrum Master Banking & Insurance (m/f/d)

Full Time Remote Senior

Job description

Remote (Germany) · Employee · Agile / Project Management

For our likeable team, we are looking for an experienced, German-speaking Senior Scrum Master (m/f/d) who will support agile development teams in our client projects in the banking and insurance sector and ensure that teams can work in a focused and effective manner, even within large corporate structures.

New Monday is a digital agency from Berlin that works 100% remotely. Our clients include well-known corporations such as Atruvia, DAK, SAP, Lufthansa, and many more, as well as modern startups like NUMA Stays.

As an employer, we are distinguished primarily by our flat hierarchies, our agile mindset, and a New Work approach. All our New Monday Team Members work 100% remotely (home office), but are still connected to each other thanks to our positive remote culture (learn more about it in the "Benefits" section).

Tasks

  • Support one or more development teams in client projects in the banking and insurance sector as a Scrum Master.
  • Preparation, moderation, and continuous improvement of Scrum events (Planning, Daily, Review, Retrospective), entirely remotely.
  • Identification and elimination of impediments, also across team boundaries and in coordination with client-side stakeholders.
  • Close collaboration with Product Owners on backlog maintenance, prioritization, and requirement definition.
  • Coaching of teams and individuals in agile working methods, with a focus on the specifics of regulated environments (compliance, release processes, documentation obligations).
  • Collaboration with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches on the client side, including in scaled setups with multiple teams.
  • Transparency on progress and team health through meaningful metrics, without reporting theater.
  • Moderation of workshops on collaboration, prioritization, and process improvement.
  • Active contribution to our internal development: exchange of best practices, learning sessions, and improvement of our own working methods.

Qualification

  • Several years of professional experience as a Scrum Master, with a significant portion spent supporting development teams in corporate structures.
  • Experience in projects in the banking or insurance sector or in other regulated industries. This is essential for this position.
  • In-depth understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and experience with scaled setups (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus).
  • Certification as a Scrum Master (e.g., PSM II or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Experience in moderating distributed, fully remote working teams.
  • Strong communication and moderation skills, including when dealing with stakeholders up to management level.
  • Fluent German in spoken and written, good English skills.
  • Basic technical understanding of software development to work with development teams at eye level.

Benefits

  • Great people, great atmosphere, dynamic team, agile working methods
  • Sweet spot between corporate daily life and creative agency life: With us, you don't have to juggle hundreds of projects simultaneously, but are always assigned to only one project.
  • The opportunity to work independently of location throughout Germany, wherever you want (100% home office), as well as temporarily abroad within the EU within legal requirements.
  • Monthly budget for on-site meetings with your colleagues, which you can use as you wish (team days in a co-working space, but just as easily for a shared lunch, dinner, after-work drinks, etc.).
  • Regular digital team evenings and other cool digital events
  • On-site meetings with the entire team in our unofficial hub Berlin once or twice a year
  • Weekly learning sessions within the team and further opportunities for your personal and professional development (training, acquisition of certificates, etc.).
  • Independent, flexible work without micromanagement

First Get-to-Know-You You will get to know our way of working and philosophy. You will have the opportunity to introduce yourself. We will answer all your questions in a relaxed atmosphere.

Interview with our Co-Founders Laura Nielsen and Dario Zampetti More in-depth get-to-know-you. Opportunity for mutual questions.

Follow-Up You will receive a small technical challenge beforehand, such as preparing a retrospective for a realistic scenario. We will discuss the results together in the follow-up. You will then have the opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation with one of your future colleagues and ask everything that might be on your mind in a trusting atmosphere.

So let's get started! We look forward to your application.

To keep it simple, we'd be happy to do without a cover letter. Just send us your CV, even if you feel you don't meet 100% of the requirements.

New Monday actively promotes equality for all employees. We therefore welcome all applicants, regardless of gender, ethnic, cultural and social origin, age, religion, belief, disability, or sexual identity. People with severe disabilities will be preferred in case of equal suitability, taking into account all circumstances of the individual case.
