Job description
Senior Scala Engineer (Distributed Systems) We are looking for an experienced Senior Scala Engineer to join the team developing modern, highly available, and performant distributed systems. You will design and develop scalable backend services, collaborating with architects and product teams. If you are interested in distributed systems, processing large volumes of data, and creating efficient applications in Scala - we invite you to apply. Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in developing backend applications and distributed systems.
- Very good knowledge of Scala and experience with the JVM ecosystem.
- Previous experience with Java, C#, or Go is a plus.
- Good knowledge of topics related to: distributed systems, microservice architecture, designing and implementing REST APIs.
- Experience in database design: relational data models, normalization, query performance optimization.
- Knowledge of topics related to: concurrency, parallel programming, designing scalable systems.
- Designing and developing backend applications in Scala.
- Building and developing scalable distributed systems.
- Designing and implementing APIs and microservice architecture.
- Optimizing application performance and solving scaling-related issues.
- Collaborating with product, DevOps, and QA teams in designing and implementing new functionalities.
- Participating in code reviews and ensuring high code quality.
- Identifying and implementing best practices related to architecture and software development.
- Experience with Akka/Pekko, Cats Effect, ZIO, or FS2.
- Knowledge of Apache Kafka or other event streaming platforms.
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of Docker and CI/CD tools.
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
