Senior SAP Payroll Consultant (m/w/d)

As Senior SAP Payroll Consultant, you will work on complex projects introducing, optimizing, and migrating payroll solutions in the SAP environment. You will act as a subject matter expert for customers, coordinate technical and functional requirements, and ensure smooth payroll processes.

Aufgaben

Your area of responsibility includes particularly:

• Briefing, implementation, and support in the area of SAP HCM Payroll (PY-DE)
• Customizing, schema, and rule maintenance in complex accounting systems
• Analysis, optimization, and harmonization of existing payroll processes
• Conducting workshops, fit-to-standard analyses, and key-user trainings
• Integration of payroll in hybrid HR landscapes (On-Premise & Cloud)
• Accompanying S/4HANA migration projects and transitions to SAP ECP
• Optional: Taking over (part-)project leadership and subject matter expertise

Qualifikation

Must-have:

• Completed studies in (business) informatics, business administration, or comparable qualification
• At least 5 years of experience in implementing, supporting, or optimizing SAP HCM Payroll
• Certification in SAP HCM Payroll (PY)
• In-depth knowledge of German remuneration accounting and statutory framework conditions
• Experience in customizing schemas and rules, including error analysis and troubleshooting
• Secure understanding of HR and payroll processes, as well as interfaces to time management, FI/CO, and PA/OM
• Analytical and structured working style, excellent customer orientation
• Very good German and English skills

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with payroll migrations (e.g., On-Premise → ECP or S/4HANA Payroll)
• Knowledge in adjacent modules (Time Management, PA/OM)
• Experience with SAP BTP, Integration Suite, or SAP Cloud Platform
• Project experience in regulated industries (banks, energy, public service)
