We currently have a vacancy for a 3-year part-time Senior Research Programme Coordinator to join our team.

This position is dedicated to supporting a large MBIE-funded project titled 'Next-generation ore: towards sustainable mining for regional prosperity and societal resilience'. This role will work closely with the Principal Investigator/Programme Leader and involves providing effective coordination and operational support across the project, including assisting researchers, subcontractors, and students with project management, research support services, and operational post-award processes.

Alongside the Principal Investigator, Research Programme Manager, and the team, you will:

  • Have strong interpersonal, communication, and engagement skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
  • Be proactive, with the ability to use initiative and self-manage workloads
  • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with strong written communication
  • Proactively organise and coordinate events, with prior experience being a preference
  • Have experience with financial systems and managing project budgets
  • Have experience working in a complex and diverse environment
  • Have experience in research project/programme administration
  • Enjoy working collaboratively and have the flexibility to adapt and work effectively in a variety of situations

This is a part-time (18.75 hours per week) 36-month fixed-term position

Remuneration: $78,601 - $90,700 pro rata, dependent on skills and experience

The Faculty comprises 10 schools and departments and has several cross-disciplinary research themes to stimulate new thinking and collaboration, thereby enhancing the quality of our research and increasing our ability to attract new research funding.

The 16 Research Programme Coordinators in the team play a crucial role in supporting science researchers in obtaining funding and subsequently managing various post-award processes for research projects. Working alongside our 5 Research Programme Managers, you will have valuable opportunities to learn new skills in a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Our ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification and have experience supporting academic or research staff. You will also have previous experience with managing large projects and navigating complex administrative systems.
