Senior Research Manager

This is a position within Keller Executive Search and not with one of its clients.

As the Senior Research Manager based in Vienna, Austria, this role leads the internal Research function and ensures consistent delivery across teams supporting executive search operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Establish KPIs, dashboards, and operating rhythms to track outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
• Define and execute the Research strategy aligned with business priorities and service standards.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, quality standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Identify risks and implement controls to protect service quality, data, and reputation.
• Present insights and recommendations to leadership, translating data into practical action.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, setting clear goals and accountability.
• Manage budgets, vendors, and resource planning for the Research function.
• Partner with sales, delivery, research, and leadership teams to streamline workflows and remove friction.

• Analysen und Empfehlungen für die Führung aufbereiten und datenbasierte Erkenntnisse in umsetzbare Maßnahmen übersetzen.
• Ein leistungsstarkes Team führen, coachen und weiterentwickeln sowie klare Ziele und Verantwortlichkeiten festlegen.
• Budgets, Dienstleister und Ressourcenplanung für Forschung steuern.
• Mit Vertrieb, Delivery, Research und Führung zusammenarbeiten, um Workflows zu optimieren und Reibungsverluste zu reduzieren.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills in English; additional local language capability is an advantage.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Research leadership roles, including people management.
• Proven ability to set strategy and deliver measurable outcomes in a fast-paced professional services environment.
• Data-driven approach with comfort using metrics, reporting, and process improvement methods.
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, and complex initiatives end-to-end.
• Knowledge of relevant local regulations and best practices that impact Research operations.

• Sehr gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Englisch; zusätzliche lokale Sprachkenntnisse sind von Vorteil.
• Mindestens 10 Jahre zunehmende Erfahrung in Führungsrollen im Bereich Forschung, einschließlich Mitarbeiterführung.
• Nachgewiesene Fähigkeit, Strategie festzulegen und messbare Ergebnisse in einem dynamischen Professional-Services-Umfeld zu liefern.
