The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The School’s primary challenge lies in fostering a culture of patient-centred care that is deeply rooted in the values of compassion, empathy, and respect for human dignity. As part of this effort, we are seeking a Senior Research Fellow with expertise in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) to lead our PPIE team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance patient engagement and involvement in research, as well as fostering partnerships with patients, public, and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implementing a comprehensive PPIE strategy that aligns with the School’s vision and mission; • Building and maintaining relationships with patients, public, and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and partnership; • Providing training and capacity-building opportunities for researchers and staff on PPIE principles and practices; • Collaborating with research teams to develop patient-centred research proposals and protocols; • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of PPIE initiatives on research outcomes and patient experiences; • Staying up-to-date with best practices in PPIE and applying this knowledge to inform strategy development and implementation. The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in a relevant field, such as public health, sociology, or anthropology, and have at least 5 years of experience in PPIE research or practice. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential for this role.
