Job description

Are you already building the talent that Athora needs tomorrow? Then we would love to meet you!

What you should know about us?

We are Athora Netherlands, an insurance company with the well-known brands Zwitserleven and Reaal. We are primarily involved with pensions and life insurance in the Dutch market. We do this as part of a European group with offices in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, and Italy. We are a strong company with over one million customers, and we want to grow in the coming years to become one of the key players in the rapidly changing pension market. That's why we are looking for people who are not afraid of change, who know how to get things done, who have the ambition to achieve results, and who therefore bring out the best in themselves and their team. Smarter together, we call that.

What will you do?

Recruitment at Athora goes beyond filling vacancies and interim assignments. We want to look ahead: what knowledge, expertise, and talents do we need now and in the future, and how do we ensure we attract them in time? We help managers build their future-fit teams.

As a Senior Recruiter, you combine strategic recruitment advice with strong operational execution. You are a sparring partner for management and HR Business Partners, you know the labor market, and you bring your own vision. At the same time, you are in the middle of the daily recruitment dynamics. You are the connecting link between managers, HR Business Partners, and candidates, ensuring that every recruitment process runs smoothly, carefully, and personally.

You play a key role in attracting the talent Athora needs to achieve its ambitions for today and tomorrow. You delve into what is happening within the organization, understand the challenges of different business units, and translate these developments into recruitment solutions.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • You are the director of the recruitment process. You are the connecting link between candidates, hiring managers, and HR Business Partners and ensure a professional and personal process, from intake and recruitment to selection, offer, and onboarding. You maintain momentum, actively monitor progress, and ensure that agreements and contacts are carefully recorded.

  • You provide support for external hires. You advise managers on suitable deployment, negotiate rates, duration, and other terms, and ensure a careful process and proper documentation.

  • You advance Recruitment as a strategic sparring partner. You translate developments in the organization and the labor market into a clear recruitment approach and proactively advise managers and HR Business Partners on the personnel needs of today and tomorrow.

  • You make data leading in recruitment advice and decision-making. Together with the team, you develop our vision on AI within Recruitment. You investigate where AI can make the recruitment process smarter and more effective and help determine where technology adds value and where personal contact should continue to make the difference.

  • You utilize recruitment and labor market data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities, translate these into impactful insights, and use the data to provide targeted advice and adjustments concerning, among other things, inflow, turnaround time, quality, and the use of recruitment channels.

  • You contribute to the further professionalization of Recruitment. You contribute to the development of our recruitment strategy, employer branding, and candidate proposition. You translate new developments into concrete improvements in working methods, processes, and service delivery.

What do we ask of you?

You are a strong and connecting recruitment professional who easily switches between strategy and execution. You are curious and results-oriented. You are an equal sparring partner for (senior) management and HR, you dare to advise and challenge from your expertise. You ask the right questions and do not automatically accept a vacancy request as a given. You want to understand first: what is really needed here? You know how to get people on board with your approach. At the same time, you keep an eye on what is needed in daily recruitment practice and ensure that agreements and processes are carefully followed up.

Additionally:

  • you have a higher professional education/university level of working and thinking and at least 7 years of relevant experience in corporate recruitment;

  • you enjoy working with data and AI and translate insights into concrete advice and actions;

  • you work in a structured and accurate manner and know how important good documentation is for a professional recruitment process and good collaboration within the team;

  • you can maintain an overview of multiple processes simultaneously without losing personal attention for candidates and managers;

  • you have experience within financial services or another knowledge-intensive and regulated environment as a pré;

  • you master both the Dutch and English languages excellently in word and writing.

What do we offer you?

You will get about 900 colleagues who all believe they work for a special company. You will have the opportunity to make an important contribution to the socially relevant theme of pensions. We ensure that your pension is well taken care of, so you can enjoy your old age without worry.

You get the chance to truly make a difference when it comes to sustainability, as we have been setting the tone for years in our business operations and investments. Of course, you will receive a (flexible) workplace at our office in Amsterdam, which ranks among the top 7% in the world, really. And because you will also work from home regularly, you will receive a budget to set up your home workspace properly.

In return for your commitment, talent, and skills, you will receive, in addition to your salary plus a holiday allowance and a thirteenth month, 27 vacation days (for a 36-hour contract) and a public transport card or travel allowance for the days you come to the office. And, importantly, we believe, you get a good training budget so you can continue to develop yourself. This gives you the opportunity to grow, within our company or beyond.

Salary per month:
Based on collective labor agreement scale 15 HAY (including CAO increase per January 1, 2027), the range is € 4,435.55 to € 5,913.69 based on 36 hours.
